MUMBAI: Ajith Kumar is a prominent Indian actor from Tamil cinema and a professional car racer. The actor stepped into the acting world in 1990 and gained fame with the 1995 film "Aasai". Known as "Thala" by fans, he has acted in over 60 films and has even received the Padma Bhushan this year.

However things have taken a critical turn now as the actor was rushed to hospital in Chennai on Wednesday after he suffered a leg injury.
As per India Today report, Ajith Kumar was mobbed by fans on Tuesday at the Chennai airport which led to a ‘minor leg injury’. The actor had returned from New Delhi to Chennai after being honoured with the Padma Bhushan.
As per India Today sources, “Ajith Kumar sir suffered a small injury in his leg when he was mobbed by a huge crowd at the Chennai airport. Hence, he had to be admitted for physiotherapy. The actor is likely to be discharged this evening. There's nothing to worry about his health.”
Ajith Kumar was conferred the Padma Bhushan by President Droupadi Murmu on Monday, with his wife Shalini Ajith proudly supporting him at the ceremony. In January, when the awards were announced, Ajith had stated, “I am deeply humbled and honoured to receive the esteemed Padma Award by the President of India. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Hon'ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu and the Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi for this prestigious honour. It is a privilege to be recognized at such a level and I am truly grateful for this generous acknowledgment of my contributions to our nation.”
When talking about Ajith Kumar’s latest movie, Good Bad Ugly is directed by Adhik Ravichandran, and features him as a retired gangster seeking justice for his wrongfully convicted son. Despite mixed reviews, the film has grossed over ₹240 crore worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2025.
