MUMBAI : Following the horrific tragedy in Bengaluru, Kannada actor Darshan—the primary suspect in the highly publicized Renuka Swamy murder case—allegedly did a pooja with his wife Vijayalakshmi. The actor was taken into custody on June 12 and is presently being held in jail.

According to sources, on June 9, Darshan bribed some of his supporters to beat and kill Renuka Swamy, and then disposed of his body in a Bengaluru sewer after that. After that, the actor went to Vijayalakshmi's home in Hosakerehalli, where he and his spouse conducted a puja at the apartment.
Following the puja, he traveled to Mysuru, where he was apprehended on June 12 following the recovery of Renuka Swamy's body from the drain.
On Wednesday, Vijayalakshmi was called in by the police and interrogated for about five hours in order to obtain information about the case. Despite the fact that Darshan and her lived apart, she was questioned over the discovery of his shoes at her home.
Her statement was recorded by Vijayalakshmi, who is currently named as a witness in the lawsuit.
Some startling information regarding the murder and the sequence of events that led up to the crime was made public by Renuka Swamy's post mortem report. The report said that after being kicked, he had a burst testicle. His mouth was smashed and mangled, and one of his ears was missing as well. Certain sections of Renuka Swamy's body were allegedly "eaten by dogs."
