MUMBAI: In the year 2019, there came a Telugu movie named iSmart Shankar that left the audience awestruck. The audience fell in love with this movie as it was a sci-fi movie written and directed by one of the major names in the South Movie industry, Puri Jagannadh, who also co-produced the film with Charmme Kaur. The movie stars Ram Pothineni in the lead role along with Satyadev, Nabha Natesh, and Nidhhi Agerwal.
The movie became a commercial success at the box office and the sequel of the movie is now here to entertain us with Sanjay Dutt playing the negative role and making his Telugu movie debut.
However, there's another Telugu movie that released on the same day. That’s right! We also have ‘Mr. Bachchan’ starring Ravi Teja. The movie is directed by Harish Shankar and while Ravi Teja plays the male lead, it also stars Bhagyashri Borse as female lead. Ravi Teja has set a benchmark with his previous movies so there's no wonder about the buzz being so high this time.
As a matter of fact, there are 15 movies releasing on 15th August out of which, Mr. Bachchan and Double iSmart had some of the highest buzz for. However, let us bring to you the business aspect of the movies and how they performed at the box office.
When talking about the box office opening day collection, Double iSmart collected around Rs 7.35 Cr. When talking about the worldwide collections of the movie, it collected around Rs 10.5 Cr. On the other hand, Mr Bachchan collected around Rs 3.45 Cr on its opening day while collecting around Rs 7.5 Cr worldwide.
On day 6, Double iSmart collected around Rs 0.55 Cr India nett (all languages) while collecting around Rs 17 Cr worldwide. On the other hand, Mr Bachchan collected around Rs 0.4 Cr India nett. Meanwhile, it collected around Rs 12.6 Cr worldwide.
