MUMBAI : Actors are being actively searched for by the Kantara: Chapter 1 production team to be part of the future movie. Potential candidates have been buzzed by the formal announcement that has been shared on their social media accounts. Rishab Shetty is directing the prequel to the hit movie Kantara from last year. He announced the casting call on Instagram.
The caption of a photo shared by Hombale Films and Rishab Shetty states, “Step into the Spotlight! #KantaraChapter1 Auditions Open – Apply at https://www.kantara.film for Your Shot at Fame. Shortlisted talents will be called for in-person auditions.”
Male actors between the ages of 30 and 60 are eligible to apply, while female actors must be between the ages of 18 and 60, according to the information on the announcement poster. Applications must be submitted by December 14, 2023.
Rishab Shetty stated in an earlier interview that he likes fresh faces, particularly those from Karnataka. Aspiring artists from other areas are welcome to apply, yet. On November 27, 2023, the Anegudde Vinayaka Temple hosted the film's muhurat. Rumor has it that the new movie, which centers on the beginnings of the Parjurli deity, is set in the historical era between 300 and 400 AD.
The first installment, Kantara, directed by Rishab Shetty, debuted on September 30, 2022. Along with Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, and Rishab Shetty have two roles. B Ajaneesh Loknath composed the music which has been produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of the Hombale Films-produced film. Despite having a budget of just Rs 16 crore, Kantara outperformed everyone by grossing over Rs 400 crore worldwide, making it the fourth highest-grossing Indian movie of the year.
