MUMBAI: The 90-year-old veteran Malayalam actress Madhu was honoured at an occasion called Madhu Mozhi by top actors, singers, directors, and producers. A video of Rajinikanth discussing Madhu was played during the ceremony. The popular Tamil actor compared Madhu to his father.
In the 1991 Tamil film Dharmadurai, which starred the Malayalam actor as Rajinikanth's father, Madhu and the superstar collaborated. When discussing the subject, Rajinikanth stated, “I got an opportunity to work with Madhu sir in the picture called Dharmadurai. He played my father. It was a beautiful experience working with him. He was a soft-spoken, kind, and gentle human being. When I acted with him, it didn’t feel like I was acting as his son, but he felt like my father. He gave a fatherly love and affection. Like most senior artistes, he was disciplined and the way he co-operated with the directors was amazing. A great soul.”
Stars who were a part of Madhu Mozhi were Mohanlal, Indrajith, Biju Menon, KS Chitra, Siddique, Gayathri, and Krishnaprabha.
Few individuals in India can match Madhu's six decades of performing experience. In Malayalam and other Indian languages, he has appeared in more than 500 films. In addition to acting, the actor has a long history of producing and directing movies. Madhu has an unmatched career; she has won the Padma Shri, a National Award, numerous Kerala State Awards, and more. He currently lives with his daughter Uma in retirement.
