MUMBAI: Prabhas was last seen in Salaar: Part One – Ceasefire, directed by Prashanth Neel. The movie was a superhit entertainer with lots of action. However, even before the movie was released, Kalki 2898 AD was announced and the audience were full of hopes and expectations as the makers had teased and hinted towards the movie being a futuristic and mythological concept.

Kalki 2898 AD’s teaser and 2 trailers finally released, giving the audience what they were waiting for and that too since such a long time. The movie stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, and Kamal Haasan.

Kalki 2898 AD is getting all the hype but it’s not just because of the trailer but everything that came before that. There were many updates about what the movie has in store for us and the audience’ anticipation grew to another level with these updates so as the movie is all set to release tomorrow, let’s see all that we know about Kalki 2898 AD till now.

High Expectations

While the audience was waiting for the movie’s trailer, there were fans who predicted that Kalki 2898 AD is one of the movies that holds the potential of collecting Rs 200-500Cr (lifetime collections).

Cameos

Firstly, there were reports that SS Rajamouli, director of Baahubali, will also be a part of the movie and will have a cameo appearance.

There was also a buzz about Rana Daggubati being part of the movie. However, we did not get to spot him in the trailers but when he was questioned about it (twice) in the pre-release event, he dodged the question without a clear answer. So fingers crossed, let there be Rana Daggubati.

Recently, there were rumours about Mrunal Thakur and Dulquer Salmaan playing the role of Prabhas aka Bhairava’s parents in the movie. Well, there are confirmations to this yet and even if it’s true we don’t know if they will be shown in the movie or will there be just a glimpse. However, the fans are quite hopeful as the two make one of the most beautiful on-screen couple.

A while ago, there were reports suggesting Vijay Deverakonda’s cameo in the movie. Surely fans of VD got excited but for some reason there was no support to this buzz and we can only wait and watch. Not forget, there was a censor board report that hinted to a lot of amazing cameos in the ‘3 hour extravaganza’

Sequels

There was a report suggesting that the movie will conclude in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ style, setting the stage for a sequel ‘Kalki 3102 BC’. It was also said that the shooting for the 2nd part has already begun.

Director Nag Ashwin had earlier mentioned in an interview that Kalki 2898 AD is a sequel to the epic Mahabharat. However, a while ago there was a buzz that Kalki is actually a 3-part franshise but there was no confirmation for it.

Scenes

According to sources, it was hinted that there is going to be an intense showdown between Amitabh Bachchan’s character Ashwatthama and Prabhas’ character Bhairava. Well, this is undoubtedly true as we have seen a glimpse of it in the release trailer of the movie that was out recently.
