In the Renuka Swamy murder case, Kannada superstar Darshan and thirteen of his friends are scheduled to appear in court today.
According to sources, the police will not pursue their detention any further because they have finished all procedures and obtained all relevant paperwork, materials, and evidence for the case—with the exception of the deceased Renukaswamy's cell phone, which is thought to be important evidence.
Later in the afternoon, the accused are probably going to appear before the 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court. Darshan was taken into custody in Mysuru on June 11.
Darshan, his 'lover' and co-star Pavithra Gowda, along with 15 other individuals, have been taken into custody on suspicion of killing Renukaswamy (33), a Chitradurga native. Two of the defendants have been placed under arrest.
According to the investigation thus far, Renukaswamy was a huge fan of Darshan and had messaged Pavithra Gowda negatively on social media. It is said that he was abducted, taken to Bengaluru, imprisoned in a shed, and subjected to severe torture till he died.
According to sources, Darshan allegedly acknowledged his involvement in the murder case on Wednesday, citing the remand copy that was sent in to the 24th ACMM court. The remand copy states that Darshan offered Pradosh, one of the suspects in the case, Rs 30 lakh to oversee the police and attorneys and to compensate the person who disposed of the body. It is said that the money was taken from Pradosh's home by the police.
