MUMBAI : Following the horrific tragedy in Bengaluru, Kannada actor Darshan—the primary suspect in the highly publicized Renuka Swamy murder case—allegedly did a pooja with his wife Vijayalakshmi. The actor was taken into custody on June 12 and is presently being held in jail.

According to reports from the ongoing investigation into Renuka Swamy's murder case involving Darshan Thoogudeepa, the Kannada celebrity allegedly borrowed Rs 40 lakh from a friend in order to pay off accomplices for destroying evidence connected to the crime. A 33-year-old Sandalwood star devotee named Renuka Swamy was abducted and murdered after disparaging Darshan's purported partner, Pavithra Gowda, on social media. On June 9, the victim's body was discovered close to a flyover in Bengaluru.
According to the most recent information, Darshan borrowed Rs 40 lakh from his friend Mohan Raj in order to pay his friends to delete the evidence that was linked to the murder case. He also bribed people Rs 30 lakh to turn themselves up and accept responsibility for the crime, deflecting attention from himself.

At the actor's house, a green Puma bag contained Rs 37.4 lakhs, which the police retrieved. According to information found in the remand copy, the police also took Rs 4.5 lakh from the head of Darshan's fan club's residence. Following the discovery of Renuka Swamy's body on June 9 next to an apartment building in Sumanahalli, Bengaluru, beside a stormwater drain, 17 persons have been detained in relation to the crime.
