MUMBAI: Well Known Tamil actor G Marimuthu who was recently seen in the Rajinikanth starrer Jailer passed away this morning at 8:30. While dubbing for the show this morning, he suddenly collapsed at a studio in Chennai. He was rushed to a hospital in Chennai's Vadapalani, where the doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

He made his directorial debut with the film Kannum Kannum in 2008. He worked as an assistant director with Rajkiran in his films like Aranmanai Kili and Ellame En Rasathan. Marimuthu made his Television debut with the show Ethir Neechal in 2022 where he played the main Antagonist.

Marimuthu’s body will be shifted to his Chennai home in Virugambakkam. His final rites will take place at his hometown in Theni. His Ethir Neechal co-stars were shocked to hear this news and rushed to the hospital on hearing the sad news. 

Previously, in a throwback interview Marimuthu, had said that he had run away from home to become a filmmaker in Kollywood.

Among his most memorable performances were 'Vaali', 'Jeeva', 'Pariyerum Perumal', and 'Jailer', among others. He was recently seen in Rajinikanth starrer Jailer villain's sidekicks.
