MUMBAI: Actress Shruti Haasan is a well-known actress from the South who is loved by everyone for her acting and her looks. Her upcoming movie ‘Waltair Veerayya’ has been all the buzz as it was set to release today. Recently, the film's pre-launch event was held, and the actress did not attend it, and rumours have been doing the rounds that claimed that she had ‘mental problems’. She has since denied the claims.
Shruti took to her Twitter handle and revealed that she had a viral fever, which is why she had skipped the event. Sharing screenshots of various media reports that made the absurd claims, that said that Shruti Haasan has ‘mental problems’ and is undergoing treatment, she responded saying, “Ok so here's the thing, misinformation like this and the over dramatization or flippant handling of such subjects is what makes people afraid to talk about mental health…Guess what? It doesn't work.”
She further added, “I will always be a mental health advocate; I will always promote taking care of myself in all aspects. Oh and…I had a viral fever, so nice try. Get over yourselves, and while you are at it, please talk to a therapist. No really, please do.”

Earlier, there were reports suggesting that Shruti hasn't been completely active since the Greece schedule of her upcoming film ‘The Eye’. Shruti later posted on Instagram- “Thank you for all the love yesterday, still so sad I couldn't make it for the grand launch.. rest and recovery mode on and lots of rasam.” Along with the message, she posted a photo herself tucked into her bed.
The film ‘Waltair Veerayya’ is directed by K. S. Ravindra, and stars Shruti, along with Chiranjeevi, Ravi Teja and Catherine Tresa. Produced by Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar and co-produced by G K Mohan, under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, Waltair Veerayya was released today, on 13th January. The original Telugu version and the Hindi dubbed version will also be released on the same day. The film was announced in August 2021. The actress’s ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ will also be released on the same day.
Other than Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy, Shruti Haasan also has ‘The Eye’ releasing in the same year. She is also set to be a part of Prabhas's next ‘Salaar’. This will mark her first collaboration with Prabhas.
