Varisu review! Thalapathi Vijay shines in this too predictable family drama

MUMBAI: Movie Varisu which has Thalapathy Vijay in the leading role has been the talk of the town much before when the movie was in the making. The movie which also has the national crush Rashmika Mandana in the leading role has finally hit the big screen on 11th January in Tamil and now the movie has released on big screen in Hindi language.

No doubt, the early reviews of the movie were great and now, let us have a look at the complete review of the movie.

Talking about the premise of the movie, it deals with the youngest son of a family, Vijay which is played by Thalapathy Vijay. He is back to his house to fix all the relationships between his family members. How he deals with his two elder brothers who are behind money and how he makes sure that the family stays happy and bonded with each other is something that is shown in the movie.

The screenplay of the movie look little dragged and direction given by Vamshi Paidipally is strictly average. The movie definitely has few high points and some clap-worthy dialogues but in bits and pieces. It is a family drama with a commercial angle.

Talking about the performances, Thalapathy shines in this family drama. Many one liners, great action sequences and clap-worthy dialogues are given to the actor. On the other hand, Rashmika Mandana, the national crush, it totally wasted in the movie. She has hardly in any scenes and had few songs to offer. If you are a Rashmika Mandanna fan, you will definitely search for her in the movie. Prakash Raj is no doubt, one of the versatil actors but unfortunately, the actor is also wasted in this movie. Also, other actors like R. Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Shaam, Srikanth, Yogi Babu were decent on their part.

Talking about the positive point of the movie, great BGM and some dance numbers are a treat to hear and it will definitely enhance your movie-viewing experience. Thalapathi Vijay is a massy actor and there a few action sequences and one liners which are definitely clap-worthy. Also, there are many references of Thalapathi Vijay from his previous movie which will definitely make you smile. Rashmika Mandana has very less to offer but she is looking supremely beautiful and very hot in music numbers.

Talking about the negative points of the movie, the screenplay dips a lot in between. The movie looks a little dragged. While watching it, you will be reminded of many other south and Bollywood movies. As the star of the movie is Thalapathi Vijay, the fans will expect more of action, but unfortunately, there are hardly any action sequences in the movie. Also, as mentioned earlier, Rashmika Mandana is very less to offer in the movie and also Prakash Raj. The story line of family drama is very much predictable.

Well, having said all these points, if you are Thalapathy Vijay fan, it will definitely be a treat for you, but the movie is strictly average and hardly have anything to offer.

Team Tellychakkar goes with 2/5 for Varisu.
