MUMBAI: A film’s director is the captain of the ship who takes the ship in the direction he wants the audiences to go with him and makes them feel what he wants them to feel. He is the main reason behind a film’s success. However sometimes things just don’t go right and the film flops no matter how hard you try. And then there are those filmmakers who turn anything they touch into gold.

Today we will talk about these South directors who have not given a single flop in their career. Director Atlee, who is a top Tamil filmmaker, is soon going to take over Bollywood as well. His film Jawan has already grossed Rs 129 crores worldwide. Another filmmaker Vetrimaaran is on top; his films like Visaranai, Vada Chennai, Asuran, and Viduthalai have taken him to the top, while Atlee’s films like Theri, Mersal, and Raja Rani have been superhits.
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj who has given films like LCU, and Thiagarajan Kumararaja is known to give repeated hits. Directors like Basil Joseph, Sameer Thahir, Anjali Menon and Geetu Mohandas in the Malayalam film industry have given ground breaking content. In the Kannada film industry, directors like Raj B. Shetty, of Garuda Gamana, Vrishabha Vahana fame, Rishab Shetty of Kantara fame, Prashanth Neel of KGf are known to give back to back hits.
SS Rajamouli who has been in the industry for around 22 years and has not given one film that has done badly at the box office. He is credited for the magnum opus like RRR and Baahubali.
