MUMBAI: Sony TV’s new show named Jagannath Aur Purvi Ki Dosti Anokhi is based on an old couple Jagannath and Kusum Mishra and a girl named Purvi Singh.

Purvi takes shelter in Jagannath's house by lying to them until she marries Babu.
However, the poster exposes her and Jagannath comes to know the truth that she has eloped from her wedding.
Later, he also finds the marriage lehenga and jewelry with her that confirms the truth.
He is angry at her and as a punishment he locks her up in the room stopping her from escaping.
On the other hand, Kusum suggests Jagannath to handle the matter calmly.
However, he is angry at Purvi's lie and cheating on her family.
He is determined to hand over Purvi to the police and send her back home.
