MUMBAI:  A lot of new shows are in the pipeline and will soon go on the floors. Some are all set for launches in the coming days.

Sony TV is going to be the home to one such new show ‘Kavya - Ek Junoon Ek Jazba’ starring Sumbul Touqeer Khan and Mishkat Varma.

According to the promo of the show, Sumbul will be playing the role of IAS Officer Kavya who is married to an IPS officer. The story will revolve around Kavya who will make many sacrifices for her career.

The show will be produced by DJ’s – A Creative Unit, which have been active in the industry for more than 20 years, and has been the name behind some of the biggest shows like ‘Just Mohabbat’, ‘Left Right Left’, ‘Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin’, ‘Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi’, ‘Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahan’, ‘Mere Dad Ki Dulhan’, ‘Chotti Bahu’, ‘Sumit Sambhal Lega’, and more.

In the first episode of the show, we get to see that Shubh and Kavya, who are childhood friends, have been dating for more than 8 years and share a lovely chemistry.

The couple aspires to be lAS officers and have planned their future together but after their engagement, they get to know that Kavya has been selected as an IAS officer and Shubh isn't selected for it. 

This is what brings a twist in the story because this hurts Shubh's male ego.

Shubh makes a big announcement in front of the media that Kavya will give her IAS seat to him for one year, and this leaves Kavya shocked to the core.

Shubh's father is both Shubh and Kavya's guru and he inspired Kavya to be an IAS officer. 

When Shubh fails to become an IAS officer, it's not just him who tries to take away Kavya's position but even Shubh's father forces Kavya to give up her seat for his son in form of Guru Dakshina. 

However, Kavya gives a befitting reply to Shubh who is not ready to digest her success because she is a woman. 

Later Kavya's challenges and hardships only increase because she is posted in a backward district with villains surrounding her.
