Amit Tandon’s abrupt departure from <em> Saath Saath </em> opened the gates for a replacement. Well, it never takes long to find one on television. Actor Salil Acharya will now be playing the role of Abhay Singh. Confirming the news, Salil’s on-screen wife in <em> Saath Saath </em>Tulika says,”Yes, it is true that Salil Acharya has replaced Amit Tandon. I think it’s his first day of his shoot today.”

Amit Tandon is taking a forced-break from dance in <em> Zara Nachke Dikha </em>. No, he is not on the penalty bench but he has injured himself. An eye witness from the show informed, “Amit was dancing for the <em>Tashan</em> round in the performance episode when he lost his balance and fell down and sprained his ankle. He hence couldn’t complete his performance and judges Malaika Arora Khan and Chunky Pandey disqualify him.

After receiving flak from judges for his performances Amit Tandon has finally made it to the top three amongst the <em> Challengers</em> along with Vineet Singh and Himani Kapoor. A source present on the sets informs, “Amit has improved a lot especially from the last episode and this time he surprised the judges and contestants with his flawless singing. He sang <em> Kya Hua Tera Wada</em>. But it was Vineet who finally made it to the <em> Champions</em>’ squad, as undoubtedly he was better of the lot.”

Enacting intimate scenes is never an easy task. It’s even harder for rookie actors who tend to develop cold feet. Often this nervousness is construed as friction between two actors. Feeling this brunt is Amit Tandon and his onscreen wife in <em> Saath Saath</em>, Tulika. Debutant actress Tulika wasn’t comfortable doing a bold scene with Amit but the rumourmongers went crying out to town with stories of a friction between the two. It was even rumoured that Tulika’s fiancée, who was present during the shoot glared at Amit.

Amit Tandon's long overdue debut album is all set to release in May. The album which was earlier titled as <em> Mera Dil </em> is now rechristened as <em>Tanha.</em> Amit says, "I first decided to name it as <em> Mera Dil </em> as I liked the title. It was then when I recorded my other two songs namely <em> Phir Teri Yaad</em> and <em>Tanha</em> that I found Tanha to be a more suitable and catchy title."

Amit Tandon is a busy and a happy man these days. The singer, actor, and anchor has his hands full with his upcoming music album, a new daily and a talk show respectively. "Singing, anchoring and acting are my three passions and I am glad to be doing all three at the same time. This gives me immense pleasure," says an ecstatic Amit. Last seen in <em> Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi,</em> Amit is set to resume his acting career with Zee TV's new show <em> Saath Saath Banayenge Ek Aashiyaan</em>, a story of two brides married in the same household.
