One of the most awaited pan-Indian releases of the year, Kalki 2898 AD arrived on the silver screens today. The sci-fi action film stars Amitabh Bachchan alongside Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan in the lead.

Director Nag Ashwin’s dystopian sci-fi film, Kalki 2898 AD, releasing in theatres on June 27. While the film’s lead cast - Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan - garner most of the screen time, the cameos by ace directors to young superstars are also clearly leaving a mark.

Kalki, directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, Shobhana, and Brahmanandam, with cameos by Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Devarakonda, Mrunal Thakur, SS Rajamouli, and Ram Gopal Varma.

Today, June 27, marks the official release of the much-awaited movie. According to sources, Prabhas was paid Rs 80 crore for his role in the Nag Ashwin-directed movie. According to a report, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan received an equal sum for the movie.
