Edging out top contender Diana Penty, model turned actress Karishma Kotak has lapped up the role of the female lead opposite Salman Khan in Sohail Khan’s upcoming film <em>Mental</em>, earlier titled <em>Radhe</em>. It is said that Salman Khan played a key role in selecting Karishma for the lead role. Said a source, “Salman has had a good equation with Kotak ever since he shot a TV commercial with her last year. In fact, the star also advocated for her inclusion in <em>Bigg Boss 6</em>. He believes that the model can give a strong performance.”

After impressing the audience with her performance in Saif Ali Khan's Cocktail, Diana Penty looks to be moving up the ladder in a big way. If all goes well, the pretty lady will soon be seen romancing Salman Khan. Diana will play the leading lady in Sohail Khan's upcoming directorial project tentatively titled <em>Radhe</em> that would star Salman Khan.

With one hit in Hum Tum and two mediocre releases like Teri Meri Kahaani and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic behind him, Kunal Kohli is trying to play safe by casting a successful newcomer rather than an established actor. In the process, Kunal has signed Ayushman Khurana to play the lead in his yet-to-be named rom-com. While it is certain that Ayushman will play the lead, the director is on the search of an A list actress to star opposite him. A unit member of Kunal’s office, however, points out hat the maker is considering Diana Penty and Ileana D'Cruz for the role opposite him.
