With one hit in Hum Tum and two mediocre releases like Teri Meri Kahaani and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic behind him, Kunal Kohli is trying to play safe by casting a successful newcomer rather than an established actor.
In the process, Kunal has signed Ayushman Khurana to play the lead in his yet-to-be named rom-com. While it is certain that Ayushman will play the lead, the director is on the search of an A list actress to star opposite him.
A unit member of Kunal’s office, however, points out hat the maker is considering Diana Penty and Ileana D'Cruz for the role opposite him.

Ayushman will start shooting for the film post the shoot of Rohan Sippy's film Nautanki Saala in which he stars along with Abhishek Bachchan. Ayushman gained immense popularity with his performance in Vicky Donor.
