to go off air
Sony Entertainment Television has failed to garner the much needed TRPs when it comes to their fiction space. However, the channel is still hopeful that their upcoming line-ups will help them bag the numbers. As soon after launching Shashi Sumeet Mittal Productions’ Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat, the broadcaster is gung-ho about their next venture with TV Queen Sanaya Irani, namely Optimystix’s Chanchan.

Star Plus' Mujhse Kuchh Kehti..Yeh Khamoshiyaan has been in doldrums ever since TAM started releasing weekly ratings after a break owing to digitalization. The fact was that the show had fared disastrously on the rating chart in its initial weeks and various last minute creative changes made could not alter its fate. To top it all, the lead actor of the show Mohit Sehgal left the show citing health reasons. And with the channel not providing creative inputs to the show, it was very evident that Khamoshiyaan was going to be short-lived.

News, news! And the breaking news is that Playtime Creations' Ruk Jaana Nahin (Star Plus) will be going off air in mid September (2012). We hear that this show will make space for Trilogy Krikos and Thoughtrain Productions' Khamoshiyaan starring Mohit Sehgal and Manit Joura as leads.
Earlier it was speculated that Khamoshiyaan would get a prime time slot, but the channel has now decided to give it an early evening slot of 6.30pm. With this, curtains will be drawn on Ruk Jaana Nahin which never really took off. The recent rating of the show is 0.8 TVR.

SAB TV’s show Movers and Shakers…Masala Markey anchored by Shekhar Suman never really set the TRP chart on fire. And the latest we have learned is that it is all set to go off air on 22 June 2012.
Already this show has been shifted to the 7 pm slot from Monday (18 June) night. This standup comedy series had first been shunted from 10.30 to 11pm and the original producer (Runway Productions) was also replaced by Optimystix Entertainment.

BAG film’s Sapno Ke Bhanwar Mein on Life OK was launched with much fanfare and the channel had much hope that it will gain the desired numbers. However, destiny had something else in store. The soap never really clicked with the masses, in spite of having a promising star cast including Vandana Joshi and Rahul Singh.

Life OK, revamped from Star One, introduced a unique way of programming. Be it involving Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit as the sutradhaar or running shows for a time of twenty minutes, the channel has tried different things. Recently, the channel pulled off one its show, Zindagi Kahe... Smile Please. And now two more shows are going to meet the same fate.

Whenever IPL hits the small screen, GECs bring a change in their programming content. In a similar development, Star Plus is all set to remove at least three of its current on air shows. First one to bite the dust will be Ravi Ojha’s Sasural Genda Phool. This slice of life drama, starring Ragini Khanna and Jay Soni, will wrap up in the third week of next month, April 2012.
