Sasural Genda Phool to go off air; Sasuma to replace it

Whenever IPL hits the small screen, GECs bring a change in their programming content. In a similar development, Star Plus is all set to remove at least three of its current on air shows. First one to bite the dust will be Ravi Ojha’s Sasural Genda Phool. This slice of life drama, starring Ragini Khanna and Jay Soni, will wrap up in the third week of next month, April 2012. Ragini confirmed the show coming to an end and said, “It was a lovely journey. This character gave me lots of name, fame and recognition. Although I am sad that Sasural… is going off, it has been a good experience and anything that begins has to end someday.” Ragini, we can’t help but mention that you have been fabulous in the show. Furthermore, J D Majethia’s (Hats Off Productions) latest offering Sasuma will replace it (will go on air from 23 April 2012 at 7.30pm). We talked to JD and he too confirmed the development. The promos of Sasuma are expected to hit the airwaves tonight (31 March). Our sources have also added that Pratigya might be the next show to go off air on Star Plus. There is also speculation that Maryada too will soon breathe its last. However, its producer Tony Singh said that Maryada has got an extension.
