Hussain alone is expected to host all the studio episodes.

While yesterday we reported how the cops had to resort to lathi charge to contain the crowds at the Delhi auditions, now we hear that the idea to bring in celebrities have been scrapped.

Indian Idol is returning with its fifth season post IPL and the auditions for the same were supposed to start at Delhi, Ahmedabad, Indore and Mumbai. But today the Delhi auditions have been cancelled because the police refused to grant permission. Apparently, 10 to 15 thousand people had turned up for the auditions yesterday. The organisers tried their best to manage the crowd, but finally the police had to intervene and resort to lathi charge to control them, after which the auditions happened successfully.

Indian Idol 1 winner Abhijeet Sawant is tipped to host the upcoming season of <em>Indian Idol 5 </em>. And his co-contestant Prajakta Shukre(she was in the top 5), has also been approached to join him as his co-host. Last season Meiyang Chang co-hosted the show with Hussain Kuwajerwala. And the judges for this season are Anu Maliek, Shreya Ghosal and Loy of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
