Abhijeet Sawant not to be part of the gala rounds

Hussain has just stepped in, Indian Idol 5 and has shot for three days and though Abhijeet Sawant was part of the first schedule, he won’t host the gala rounds. Hussain alone is expected to host all the studio episodes. Our source from the show says, “We shot for the pre gala rounds with all the 116 contestants selected from various cities. They had to perform in groups, followed by the duet and solo performance rounds. Now 16 of which will be part of the gala round which Hussain will host alone. Abhijeet will host the interactive rounds or special rounds (like Ru Ba Ru).Our next schedule is expected to start in the first week of May. In the first schedule both Hussain and Abhijeet hosted different sections.” Sawant has a contract with the channel to host the season. There was always a question mark on his hosting the entire season. For the time being, there is no co-host. “We have not thought about bringing in another host, someone might join him later on. For the first episode, the channel has been approaching few celebrities to make appearances and there would be some guest performances as well,” a source says. Sawant says, “I have no information about it. I shot for three days where Hussain and I divided our sections and shot for the show. But I don’t know anything about the gala rounds.” Prajakta Shukre and Sawant hosted the auditions and then Hussain replaced Prajakta in the studio episodes. The show will be on air from next Monday.
