The Dadasaheb Phalke Academy will honour filmmaker Yash Chopra, Rajesh Khanna and Asha Bhosle with the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards at 13th Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards ceremony that would be held on 30 April.

India’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna was posthumously awarded his Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award this morning. The award was collected on his behalf by his wife Dimple Kapadia. Khanna died on July 18 last year (2012) The awards were announced in January (2013) and have been given in phases. Among others who received awards were industrialists Adi Godrej and artist S H Raza received his Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award.

This came to light when a high-level committee met yesterday to shortlist the names for Padma Awards. The committee, which includes Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Pulok Chatterjee, Union Home Secretary R K Singh, actor Ratna Pathak Shah, scientist Anil Kakodkar, shortlisted the names of next year's Padma awardees at the meeting.
