Renowned author, historian and filmmaker Vishwas Patil ‘s search for the lead of his debut directorial venture <em>Rajjo</em> came to an end when he signed Kangna Ranaut for the lead in the hard-hitting, real to life musical entertainer that will showcase the changing scenario of Mumbai. Winner of several prestigious literary awards, Vishwas, while zeroing in on his leading lady who plays a nautch girl in the film, was looking for a powerhouse performer with a regal appeal on the lines of the iconic Madhubala. And he found it all in Kangna.
