Sushant's taking a break!

The buzz goes that Sushant Singh's character in <em> Viruddh</em> will soon meet its logical end. In the upcoming episode, the stern journo will be transferred to Bangalore. Recently in the show viewers were quite taken aback when Vikram Gokhale's character was bumped off. So, where is the current <em> Viruddh</em> track headed for. "I don't know where you have heard this from. Sushant is very much a part of the show and there are no problems between us," said a rather annoyed Smriti Irani.

Smriti Irani to produce a show for 9X

The Balaji fall-out brigade is taking refuge in the upcoming channels. Tellywood's soap queen Smriti Irani-Malhotra has joined the bandwagon. Smriti will produce and act in a daily for 9X. The channel will be launched on November 5th. Speaking on this development, Smriti says, "Our company (Ugraya Entertainment Ltd) was looking at collaborating with new channels. 9X and Ugraya make a great combination. I'm producing as well as acting in it."

Viruddh's changing track

Smriti Irani's <em> Viruddh</em> started on a bang but hasn't fared too well on the TRP charts. The show with a very good starcast is now daring to go the whole hog to rope in viewers. Bollywood's fine actor, Sushant Singh, who is busy with in Ram Gopal Varma's remake of <em>Sholay</em> (where he plays Sambha), is also finding a footing for himself on television. With Sony's Virrudh, he is all set to kick off his full-fledged small screen innings. This rather stern looking actor plays an investigative reporter, and will also be seen romancing Smriti Irani, the lead protagonist of the show.

There's no stopping nation's ladli <em> bahu</em> and CEO of Ugraya Entertainemnt Pvt Ltd, Smriti Irani. After delivering two star-studded shows <em>Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasman</em> on Star and soon-to-be-aired Virrudh on Sony, now the plucky producer's readying a plum project for Zee network.

Smriti Irani's Viruddh on Sony

Smriti Irani after turning producer with her show <em> Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aaasmaan</em> on Star is all set launch a new show titled <em>Viruddh</em> in association with Applause entertainment, a part of the Birla group. The cast is an amalgamation of the best talents from theatre, films and TV: Sushant Singh, Ashwini Kalsekar, Vikram Gokhale, Achint Kaur, Govind Namdev and Irani herself.

Tulsi to host the curtain raiser for Jai Santoshi Maa

Smriti Irani will host the curtain raiser in a special revealer episode of the much-celebrated, unlikely mega-blockbuster of 1975, <em>Jai Santoshi Maa</em> called <em>Santoshi Maa ke darshan tulsi ke sang</em>. XL Media Pvt. Ltd. has teamed up with Star India for this unique venture. To begin with, this much-acclaimed landmark film was made by XL Media's very own banner 31 years back, known as <em>Bhagyalaxmi Chitra Mandir</em>, and it is releasing the same on the small screen as well.

Amarr turns producer!

Amarr Upadhyay whose claim to fame was Mihir's character in <em>Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi</em>, is finally fulfilling his dream -- that of starting a production house of his own. He has named his production house Friday Films. "I always thought of producing my own shows and here I am," says Amarr. The production house will not be in partnership with anyone. "No this will not be a joint venture; instead it will be owned by my wife Hetal and myself," adds the actor. Friday Films will produce films, television shows, as well as ad films.
