Joy's joyful these days!

We last saw him in Bhabhi on Star Plus, and that too in 2001! And now after a long hiatus, actor Joy Sen Gupta has taken up Balaji's prime time show, Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka (Star One). This is Joy's maiden opportunity of working with the powerhouse, Balaji Productions. He will be essaying the character of Ashutosh in Kya Hoga …. "Balaji is the best paymaster and their production values are on par with a film. They are very professional and fast paced," says Joy. "I have been avoiding daily soaps for quite some time, but for a change I took up this offer," he adds.

Vaishnavi's dearest tune!

We are talking about telly actor Vaishnavi who is currently seen as Anu's (Kanchi Kaul) mother in Sony's Ek Ladki Anjani Si and Star Plus' K Street Pali Hill. Anyone who calls her will be welcomed by a sweet l'il voice of a girl crooning, 'lakkadi ki kathi' from the film, Masoom. On quizzing her about the unusual tune, it came to our knowledge that it's her three year old daughter, Margaret singing. "I recently put up her voice. Previously it was my own voice. The way my daughter has sung the song makes me laugh. So I thought, why not use it?" quips Vaishnavi.

Not many know that Renuka was offered a role by Cinevistaas, for which she has shot a pilot but eventually opted out of it as it turned out to be a daily and she could not juggle work with kids.

Mum's the word??

The idea may not have been exactly original, but Star Plus' Mum Tum Aur Hum seems to have struck a chord with little audiences. There have been families that have flown down to Delhi from places as far flung as Amravati and Tuticorin, just to be able to take part in the show. Says producer Anita Kaul Basu, "We even had a hysterical mother calling us from Tuticorin, saying her daughter wouldn't give up till she is called on the show." FM loves it too????

Will Anuj say 'Hello Dollie'?

His decision to walk out of Kkusum seems to have already other producers' thinking. Anuj Saxena, who had restricted himself to the lone persona of Abhay Kapoor for a long time, now has offers pouring in, we hear. One of the whackiest offers that has come his way is for a role in Star Plus' Hello Dollie. Dollie, played by Karishma Randhawa, was loosely modeled on the Princess Diaries, but has long since become a fantasy serial for kids. The show's producers deny that they are looking for a romantic interest for Dollie, but how else will Anuj fit into the frame?
