The quirky world of television is full of stars, starry mood swings, the rat race for the stellar roles and lots more...
Mona upset
Mona Singh tells us that she never said, as reported in a section of the media, that her plain Jane look as Jassi has more clout with the Indian audience than otherwise. "I have not stated that I would be unhappy if I undergo a make-over. I know for a fact that people are anxiously waiting for the make-over to happen. People have accepted me in this plain Jane look for two reasons. One, they identify with the character. Two, they want to see my beautiful side as well. So, that suspense and aura has really worked," she says.
'Sanjivani' extended
For those interested, 'Sanjivani' has been granted an extension till April 2005. Wonder how Star and Cinevistaas are going to drag it. Add this to the fact that the main two leads (Mihir Misra, Gurdeep Kohli) are completely at loggerheads and waste no chance in lashing out against each other. Meanwhile, Gurdeep flies off to Delhi for a holiday. No prizes for guessing that Arjun Punj is going too!
New 'Shriman Shrimati' on Sab
Rajdan Wagdhare (Yes Boss) is planning another serial for Sab TV. The show is tentatively titled Shriman Shrimati Relaoded. The cast will not have any old faces . The release date will be mid-next year.
Sonu goes straight
Well, we mean Sonu Nigam has just gone and straightened his hair. Gone are the curly locks and the later spiked-hair look. Now, he's got curtains that frame that boyish face, as can be seen in any of the latest Indian Idol episodes. Would it have anything at all to do with the fact that he and his wife have patched up after being on the verge of separation? A new look for a new mood?
'Sanjivani' in 'Kyunki...'?
Star Plus continues to innovate, mixing and matching its stars from various soaps. As if the Ansh saga wasn't enough, Kyunki... will now have Sanjivani stars Mihir and Gurdeep as well as Sangita Ghosh and Ankur Nayar (Mahi and Veer from 'Des Mein Nikhla Hoga Chand') and Swapnil Joshi and Pallavi Kulkarni (Dhruv and Karishma from 'Kehta Hai Dil')in Thursday's episode, as guests to the party thrown by Ansh for his birthday. Quite a starry party, this!
