Subhash Ghai is currently lodged in the valleys of flowers in Uttaranchal where he, along with 150 artistes and technicians, will shoot for <em>Kaanchi</em> in which Bengali damsel Mishti plays the title role.
The unit will shoot parts of the love story and picturize songs along with a few scenes.

On Sunday the neo-Showman Subhash Ghai returned to direction after a gap of 5 years with the first day’s shooting of his new love story <em>Kaanchi</em> featuring the talented actor Kartik Tiwari from <em>Akaash Vani</em> and <em>Pyaar Ka Punchnama</em> along with Ghai’s latest female ‘M’ discovery Mishti.

Mishti, who plays Subhash Ghai’s new protagonist Kanchi, is actually Indrani Chakraborty... and she is not Ghai’s discovery. Mishti, aka, Indrani has just completed a film with Bengali superstar Prosenjit directed by Rupali Guha.
Both Prosenjit and Rupali are baffled as to why the young aspirant is trying to write off her first film to appear as Subhash Ghai’s discovery.

Subhash Ghai returns to direct his next directorial venture Kaanchi after a gap of four years.
Ghai, who had last directed the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starrer <em>Yuvvraaj</em> in 2008, has almost finished the process of casting of the film, that would roll soon the earliest and release on 15 August next year.
The film has a new star cast along with veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who will play the villain and also Mithun Chakraborty who will play a prominent role in the film.
