Daawat-E-Eid

Daawat-E-Eid
As the Eid preparations begin with full swing, the aroma of sheer korma, biryani, tandoori and other lavish delicacies arise out of every kitchen in the vicinity and set our mouths watering. And as the difficult month of Ramadan and observing stringent fasting comes to an end, Tellychakkar.com takes a sneak peek at what our celebs like best among the variety of Eid delicacies and uncover their culinary skills. Shafaq Naaz: Every Eid, we make a number of delicacies at home. I don’t really have a specific favorite. I personally think my Mom is the best cook in the world and she always comes up with something interesting all the time. But since it’s Eid I and my sister don our chef hats and are planning to come up with something interesting. Sheer khorma is a specialty. Apart from that we also make something called kheema ki khachoriyan and the Rajasthani dish dahi phulki. We are also planning to make mutton bafla bati this Eid. We are all set to come up with something delicious, unusual and out of the box. Salman Yusuff Khan: My favorite Eid delicacies include my Mom’s special dahi curry and my all-time favorite chicken shammi kebabs. I can practically live on these the rest of my life. My Mom has her own recipe book and has been gracious enough to share it with me and my brother. So on holidays and special occasions we cook some her specialties and bond over some home cooked yummy food. Adaa Khan: Sheer khorma is my personal favorite. It is a very popular Eid specialty and is usually made by the older women in the household. My Mom used to make wonderful sheer when she was with us. Since my Mom is no longer with us, I make sheer khorma every Eid for all my near and dear ones. My Mom taught me how to make it and it gives me immense happiness when people appreciate it and tell me I make it exactly like my Mom. Shagufta Ali: I am a big time foodie and I relish all the rich and exquisite delicacies served on Eid. We make a variety of recipes at home including tandoori, biryani, jalebi, sheer khorma, kebabs and many more. Due to my tight schedule, I hardly get time to enter the kitchen. I cook sometimes but most of the times, it is my Mother who handles the kitchen department. I just hog and savor the wonderful food she prepares. Sana Amin Sheikh: I have two favorite Eid delicacies. One is of course sheer khorma and the other one is biryani. Usually people add a lot of sugar and sevaiyaan to sheer but my Mom keeps it very subtle, not too sweet and adds sevaiyaan in the needed proportion. So no flavor dominates as such. I personally love cooking and make Sheer, biryani and other food items too. I like being creative in the kitchen and playing with a lot of flavors and spices. That was indeed a tasty treat! We sincerely hope that the beautiful season of Eid would continue to brighten and sweeten your lives and keep spreading smiles. Eid Mubarak!
