"The greatest gift I ever had, came from God; I call him Dad"- a beautiful ancient saying but true. We all are blessed to have some wonderful dads. And lucky are the fans of Tellywood, who have seen so many father figures over the years.
To pay a tribute on Father’s Day, here on Tellychakkar.com we present you with some of the best iconic father figures of television.
Mihir Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi - Just like Tulsi Virani, who was the epitome of motherliness, her counterpart Mihir was also the ultimate father of television. He protected his children not only from outsiders but also from their Maa ki daant. Though hard to find such father figures in real life, we would love to have one like him.
Ram Kapoor in Bade Achhe Lagte Hai- Who won’t love to have a father like Ram Kapoor, who is rich and foodie. Not only this father can pamper us to the core with all the luxuries in life but also with the fact that with such a father beside us, we girls would not have to worry about weight issues any more. Yeah, that makes us happy.
Raman Bhalla in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein- He is strict and rude, aptly called Ravan Kumar by his better half. But, we all know that behind this strong exterior, he has a soft heart of gold for his children, that fiercely loves Ruhi and Adi. And we love Raman Bhalla for that. Don’t we?
Rishabh Bajaj in Kasautii Zindagii Kay- Rishabh Bajaj was perhaps the best step father of small screen. He not only tolerated every single non-sense of his wife’s children but never discriminated between his biological and adopted kids. Not to forget that not only the best but he was also the hottest father we could ask for.
Jethalal Gada in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah- No doubt that every child would love to have a father like him. Funny, casual yet caring about his son, Jethalal is perhaps the best representation of typical Indian father, who is a perfect family man and loves his kid.
Mohan Bhatnagar in Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha- The ultimate daddy cool or rather coolest of the small screen Mohan Bhatnagar used to be at his best when he was with his on screen children. Imagine any other dad calling his daughter Chavanni instead of Nanhi? Also we loved his funky conversation with his adopted daughters and son.
Tulsidas and Praful Parekh in Khichdi- For the father Tulsidas his son was nothing more than a Gadha (donkey). But, definitely he was one of the funniest babujis on television. And on the other hand apart from being a crazy son of his father, Praful himself was a father of two.
Indravadhan Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai- Indu is the one, who is not only at his funkiest best as a father but, also as a father-in-law. The humourous daddy dear of Sahil, Roshesh and Sonia, he was a real bully for others. Think about having such an entertaining papa at home. We do love and miss this prankster father.
Sooraj Rathi in Diya Aur Baati Hum- When a caring husband becomes a father, what he can do for his child is quite evident from Sooraj’s action. Just to make his baby boy proud he joined the Kabaddi team and all he wants for his son is just happiness.
Bhsihma Pitamah in Mahabharat- He might not have fathered any baby biologically but in Hindu mythology he was the perfect father figure guiding the rulers of his clan generation after generation. Just like a true father he stepped aside in the battle to make his children win the Dharma Yudhya.
Alok Nath in infinite number of shows- This one is surely a special case as the actor himself is the Big Daddy in the game. Baap of all Baaps, Alok Nath has essayed many roles as a father figure with elan. He is the ultimate Saanskari Babuji of television, who has inculcated only good values within us.
We know readers even you are in love with these father figures. Let us know which character your real life father resembles the most in the comment section below. And if you love your dad hit the like button and share.
Happy Father's Day to all.
