The quirky comedy of SAB TV’s Badi Dooooor Se Aaye Hai that explores an extra-terrestrial family’s search for their eldest son is gearing up for a big change soon.
The series, headed by Sumeet Raghavan, Rupali Bhosale, Tanaaz Irani, Bakhtiyaar Irani, Amit Dolawat, Vinay Rohrra, Punit Talreja, and Sujay Bagwe, is a funny take on an alien family’s everyday struggles amid humans. Read onto know why it’s the best alien comedy show on TV…
Best Alien comedy on the small screen:
It’s the only mainstream comedy on TV to explore an alien concept that has many twists and turns thrown in. But what’s really fascinating is that the series beautifully juxtaposes the quirks of the alien world with regular human behaviour. Whether it’s the untimely use of their powers or the uncontrollable urge to work alien-like, the Ghotalas constantly struggle. And that’s what makes the show such a win!
Handling everyday issues with a touch of humour:
When they struggle to find solutions for everyday issues, the Ghotala family pull off many ‘Ghotalas’ and their simpleton neighbours put in their efforts to help the family too. When the neighbours interact with the Ghotalas, it gives rise to many funny incidents. The whole building handles everyday issues with a touch of humour. They not just laugh it off, but also make sure that they learn a lesson or two from the incident.
Reinforcing our faith in humanity:
The warmth the people share with one other and the handling of the situations reinforce our faith in humanity, isn’t it? Because at the end of the day, we all need people, and good ones at that. Even when the neighbours realised the truth about the Ghotalas being aliens and felt cheated about not knowing it earlier, they decided to help them look for their lost son, while keeping the secret to themselves.
Mr and Mrs Ghotala are the ultimate couple:
They tease each other, have fun at other’s expense and generally goof up things, but they are absolutely adorable together. Their romance is rather different from us humans but certainly no less endearing. Even when Varsha Ghotala messes the most simplest of stuff with her alien-powers, her husband Vasant pitches into make everything normal. It works the other way round too…aww.
The fun is definitely going to double as the show moves into the 10 PM slot. Yes! The ever-popular comedy has been pushed to the prime spot. For your daily dose of laughter at night, don’t forget to tune into the show.
After all, we all need a yum dessert post dinner, right? What better way to beat work blues than a serving of Badi Dooooor…at night, eh?
Created by JD Majethia and Aatish Kapadia, the show went on air in 2014.
