Over The Years: Actors who have Moved Out of Balika Vadhu

Balika Vadhu

One of the longest running shows on Colors, Balika Vadhu, has seen various entries and exits over the years. But the popularity of the show has never wavered. Here are the major exits from the show...take a look. The show is produced by Sphere Origins.

Pratyusha Banerjee (Anandi): The actress had a good three year run on the show, before quitting it for good. She issued a statement saying that she wanted more free time as the daily soap was very tiring. There were also rumours about her having bagged a Bollywood movie.

Anjum Farooki (Gauri): The actress entered as the other woman in lead Jagya's (Shashank Vyas) life. Her track was going great but she decided to quit the show to start a new life with Saqed Sayed. The actress hasn't returned to TV since.

Sriti Jha (Ganga): Sriti quit Balika Vadhu in hopes of bagging a lead role, which she did. The actress is currently a part of Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya.

Sargun Mehta (Ganga): Sargun had come in as a replacement for Sriti Jha, but moved out due to alleged creative differences.

Siddharth Shukla (Shiv): Siddharth's track is all set to come to a logical end, marking his exit from the show for good. We are guessing plum Bollywood offers are the reason behind it.

Smita Bansal (Sumitra): The actress called it quits after six years of association with the daily soap as she couldn't contribute anything new to the plot.

Anup Soni (Bhairon): Anup too quit Balika after six long years as he felt that the show wasn't giving him any creative satisfaction. However, he wasn't replaced. His character came to a logical end just like Smita Bansal's.

Satyajit Sharma (Basant): Satyajit's exit from the serial was a creative call. His exit came as a surprise to his fans though.

Neha Marda (Gehna): Just like Anjum Farooki, Neha too decided to walk out of the show just before her wedding to her businessman husband Ayushman Agrawal.

Veebha Anand (Sugna): Veebha moved out of Balika when she bagged the lead on Zee TV's Sanskar Laxmi.

Vikrant Massey: Massey played Shyam on the show, but quit it after he was offered the lead in Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo. Other reports suggest that Vikrant wasn’t interested in being a part of the show post the leap.

Avinash Wadhwan: Not wanting to play a grandfather post the leap, Wadhwan who played Siddharth Shukla’s dad, bid farewell to the show. The actor has since cleared the air, stating that he had prior commitments with his Punjabi film that did not allow him to give time to the daily.
