MTV's flagship show, Roadies, is one of the most watched one on the small screen. From its first season to the latest 12th one (X2), it has been a hit with the youth. May be it's to do with the fancy bike that the winner walks away with, the fame that comes along or simply an opportunity to become a VJ on the channel. Whatever the reason, its TRPs haven't wavered in over a decade of its presence. As the new season kicks off, without deadly twins Raghu and Rajiv, we tell you what you can learn from the show... Read on:
Drama is king:
If you've a sob story that will establish your past as an especially challenging one, you're all set the grab the limelight. The one thing everybody swears by on this show is that drama is the undisputed king of the small screen. You can learn all about being a drama queen from watching this show regularly. If you thought only the contestants indulged in drama, you're wrong, of course. Because even the judges are no less dramebaaz! Till the menacing duo of Raghu and Rajiv were there on the show, there was no dearth of drama. Now that they have bid adieu to the show, the other judges are leaving no stone unturned to fill into their shoes.
Manipulate, and you win:
Much like real life, hardwork, passion, talent and honesty are secondary to luck and manipulation. On the show, no straight-shooting contestant has ever walked away with the bike. It's always the cunning, scheming and loud ones who win the show. Because they can manipulate, make the sweet and nice co-contestants' live hell and still manage to be the most popular Roadie on the show. If you haven't picked up this life lesson from this show yet, you haven't really been paying much attention, have you?
Swearing is cool. Not:
Many youngsters feel that swearing and abusing on screen are cool. While it's still better than smoking and drinking onscreen, the youth should never be misguided like this. It's not cool to use foul language because it only makes you look cheap, vulgar and class-less. It's a lesson every youngster should learn that being a snob on the small screen doesn't make you a winner in life. It’s a just a show, nothing else. It's always the good ones who triumph at the end. Because that's the rule of life.
Be yourself:
Despite the many faults of the show, the one thing that we all must genuinely learn from the show is that being yourself is the greatest trick ever. You might have a billion strategies and hundreds of manipulative techniques, but if you're not yourself on the show or in your everyday life, you're nothing. Whatever you do in life, make sure that it has YOU written all over it. Nothing will come out of it if you forget to do things your own. Following a lead is fine, but blindly following one is dangerous. Get inspired by many and listen to all, but only do what you wish to.
