What's in a name?

Hiten Paintal, who ventured in acting with a 70 mm flick, Tere Liye, has been in news recently for replacing Manish Goel in Balaji's Kasautii Zindagi Kay. But what very few know that this petite and light-eyed actor is the son of Bollywood funster Paintal. But since he shares his surname with Gufi Paintal (remember, he played Shakuni in Mahabharat?), people do tend to mistake Hiten as his son!
During an intermission of a play, we spotted Hiten with his girlfriend Kishwer Merchantt, and he was overheard lamenting, "Gufi Paintal is my uncle and his son is also gearing up to be an actor. It will get all the more confusing, so I want to clear it once for all!" Hmm…quite a problem! Imagine people approaching Gufi Paintal and praising him for his son's TV act, even though his real son has still to mark his debut! Rajesh's Hollywood connections! What is common between Tom Hanks, Johnny Depp and Parbatlal of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin? Actor Rajesh Khattar's voice! Yes, this film-TV-theatre actor has lent his vocal chords for the Hindi versions of Hollywod blockbusters, Da Vinci Code and Pirates of the Carribean. Few know that Rajesh's voice is the chosen one when it comes to dubbing English movies to our national language. So don't be surprised when you spot Rajesh's name roll in the credits of the upcoming Hollywood flicks translated in Hindi! Rahil's courteous greet This is what 'getting into the skin of the character' truly means. It seems that Rahil Azam's screen persona has rubbed into his real life too! In Star One's Resham Dankh he plays Aditya Balraj, an absolute gentleman, who treats everyone with respect and loves his family. And this courteous nature of his is not just restricted to his reel life. This is evident if one were to call up this guy. His answering machine greets you with Rahil's deep voice apologizing for not being to able to answer the phone as he is tied up with some work. And the funniest aspect is that the entire message is taped in chaste Hindi, filmy ishtyle! Here is the entire voice mail for you: Eh kash, is waqt hum apse behas kar pate, Lekin afsoos hum is waqt ek zaroori kaam main ulje hue hain Isliye krupya aap apne shubh naam aur number apni pyaari awaz ke zariye chod dijiyega Hum aapse vaada karte hain, ke hum aapse turanth hi behas karne ki poori poori koshish karenge. So all folks out there think out of the box when it comes to your voice mails. You'd never know we would chance up on it and feature it here! Apara's date problems Apara Mehta has her hands full! After Kyunki.. she signed on Saat Phere on Zee TV (though she's out of it now) and later went on to do Resham Dankh on Star One. But since Apara was keen on getting back into the Balaji fold she took on Karam Apna Apna; afterall it was Balaji which gave her all the name and fame. But now a little birdie told us Apara's dates have gone for a toss, as she has to give more time for Karam Apna Apna. And couple this with her theater commitments, Apara also often travels abroad for her plays. Now, we really wonder how she's going to manage so much work, as she's already been accused of giving more time to Balaji for obvious reasons. But knowingly fully well what a hard taskmaster Ekta is, lets hope Apara finds her balance. Afterall, there is life beyond the K factory Balaj Ami's torn chappals If Sandeep Rajora is known for his stinginess, he has company in Ami Trivedi, the perky Kittu of SaharaOne's Kittu Sab Jaanti Hai. According to reliable sources on the sets, Ami has been spotted in a pair of worn out and torn chappals for the past one month without even getting it mended. Another interesting story doing the rounds is she freely uses cosmetics and toiletries from her co-star's personal vanity bags to dab on herself. Considering she is playing the title role in the serial and lead actors of television industry are known to get a fairly good amount as remuneration, we find Ami's behaviour rather surprising. Now, come on Ami, we know you are a generous gal, don't take so much time to show it!
