Chocolate boy Barun Sobti who was last seen in the popular Dill Mill Gayye would now be playing the lead in DJ’s Baat Hamari Pakki Hai on Sony Entertainment Television. Biting his nails anxiously, Sobti promises more with his all-new six pack abs in this new love tale. TellyChakkar snatched a few moments with the hottie! Tell us more about your background… I am from Delhi. I did my schooling and graduation there. Not many would know that I worked as an operation manager at Jindal Telecom for 7 years. People often told me I looked good and should be in front of the camera. I too wished being on TV, tried my luck and here I am! On Baat Hamari The channel and DJ’s auditioned me. At that time, I was juggling a couple of shows. However, when I came to know about Shravan’s (his character in Baat Hamari Pakki Hai) character I really wanted to play this part. What is your character like in the show? Shravan is a slightly irresponsible guy. He belongs to a family that is quite well-off thus, has no pressure of earning. He is the youngest in the family. I could say that he has reached a marriageable age but doesn’t want to get married. He is very carefree because of which he ends up hurting people, unintentionally. It’s a very cute character. Can you relate to your character in the show? Yes, there are many aspects of his I identify with. He talks just like me. Tell us more about your off-screen chemistry with Ankita Sharma (his romantic lead in the show)… Ankita (Sharma) is a wonderful girl. She scolds me a lot on the sets (laughs) but even then she is also very sweet. She is a very good actress and we get along well on the set. Do you believe in arranged marriages? I don’t but I am not against them either. If I find someone, good and if I don’t, I will go to my parents. What are your expectations from the show? My fingers are crossed, I am praying! From what I see in my character, Shravan is definitely going to stand out. He is unlike others who you see in daily soaps and he will make everyone happy. You’re a lead in a prime time show. What is the feeling like? I am excited. However, I don’t have butterflies in my stomach anymore. I think no butterflies will help me work better. TV or films? I would pick both. I am currently doing television and am having a lot of fun. But, I would like to do films too. What are your future plans? I don’t know. Currently, I am putting my heart and soul into this.
