It’s safe to say that Jennifer Winget is a powerhouse of talent with a gorgeous face to boot. Now, that’s rare, right? To be blessed with a stunning face and talent in equal measure is what sets her apart from her contemporaries.
With the actress making a comeback on the small screen with Sony TV’s Beyhadh, we got chatty with her about her show, co-stars, reality shows and more.
Excerpts from the interview:
Firstly, congratulation on completing 15 years in the industry. How do you see television content evolving?
I feel ancient. I see Beyhadh bringing in the change on the small screen. I hope that this show brings evolution and people accept our hard work.
Is your character inspired from Urmila Matondkar in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya?
I think every character is inspired from somewhere. Beyhadh is not based on any show or film. It’s a story about three characters and how their lives are entwined. Since it’s a finite show, we know what the beginning and the end is.
What kind of a lover are you in real life?
I am a very chilled-out lover, who is very lazy.
Have you ever done anything on an obsessive level?
I am not an extremist person.
Have you evolved as a person?
I have grown up here. I have been working here since I was a kid. Evolution is good and I am happy that I have evolved. It’s been a great journey. I thank my friends and family for their support.
There is no doubt that you are a popular face and alsoa favourite of many male actors, so how do you take this compliment?
I feel amazing. Since the time promos of Beyhadh are on, I have received many messages from my industry friends, giving me great response. This pushes me to work harder. I feel blessed to be given this opportunity.
How is your experience of working with Kushal (Tandon)?
I am having a good time working with Kushal and Aneri (Vajani). Acting is all about give and take and at the end of day, I don’t feel tired but satisfied.
There have been times when you were involved in controversies, but you kept going…
I am a happy person and all these nitty-gritties in life don’t bother me.
What’s the status of your film with Kunal Kohli?
Honestly, I have no clue about it. We all have put in a lot of hard work. All I can do is wait for its release.
Any regrets in life?
Absolutely none.
How do you unwind yourself?
I like to travel, sleep, play with my dog and spend time with my family.
How do you react when you are linked-up with your co-stars?
It’s all a part and parcel of life. Every job has its pros and cons. As long you know who you are and what the truth is, it doesn’t really matter.
Did your industry friends stand by you in your difficult phase?
I don’t need anyone to stand by me. I am good enough on my own.
How do you keep yourself fit?
I am not a gym person. I perform yoga and take care of my diet.
Any reality show you wish to be a part of?
I don’t know about participating, but I don’t mind hosting one.
