MUMBAI: Siddharth is a well-known face on AltBalaji. Puncch Beat featured him as one of the main characters. Priyank Sharma played the lead in the show. Siddharth was the show's second lead. Lock Upp was one of four AltBalaji projects that he was a part of.

Siddharth Sharma had been a contestant to watch out for in  Kangana Ranaut's Lock Upp since the beginning. Siddharth consistently made headlines since joining the Ekta Kapoor-produced show, from his intense fight with Shivam Sharma to now (unwillingly) backstabbing Anjali Arora.

He recently got evicted from the show 'Lock Upp'. In an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar, he spoke about his journey, regrets, and his big Hollywood debut.

How has your journey been on the show? Do you think it was a fair eviction?

My journey and my experience on the show have been really great. I had a lot of fun. We were detached from the outside world. I got to discover a lot of things about myself. It was an experience of a lifetime. We really started to appreciate the smallest things that we usually ignore about life like amenities and luxuries. We were kept like culprits.

And I think at the beginning, my goal in the show was to get as many amenities as I can. My focus was different, but then, I realized that the show has multiple layers and you have to be your real self. You can't always plan things and work accordingly. I thought it was very task-centric in the beginning and I had a very tough time. I broke my shin bone, but I still had to keep going. My gameplay was to win amenities first, and then I thought I could form my own bonds and strengthen them.

I had just started on the show, so I do think it was unfair in that sense. But it was important for other people to secure their survival. I felt disappointed and I wanted to play the game with more enthusiasm. I think people have only seen one side of me. I have 50 more, so I do wish that I could have continued the journey.

If you could get a chance to go back, is there something you would do differently or do you have regrets?

I don't have any regrets at all because I was very real and I have become much calmer in situations. I used to have a lot of breakdowns. Shivam would instigate me a lot, but I didn't want to play a dirty game. Shivam would fight with me just for content, so that he could grab the attention of the cameras. And If I could go back, I would open up a little more and talk about my feelings more. I was starting to do that. Everybody wants to win the show and they are playing to their own strengths, but I wish people were a little more real.

You started your career with a reality show and you've gone on to do some more reality shows. Would you want to shift genres and try more acting and fiction shows?

Absolutely, I love acting and that is my priority. There was a lot of speculation about my role in Puunch Beat, and I didn't pay too much heed to it. As for trying out different roles, I really want to do more romantic roles, like my character in the music video did in 'Leja re', because people really appreciated that kind of role on me. I have played the macho guy kid of characters. I would like to explore more genres and pick a niche. And I have a whole platter of projects lined up, so hopefully, fans will like the roles I do. And I am going to make my Bollywood debut soon, so I am really excited.

Stay tuned for more news on the entertainment industry.
