The pretty lass is on a spree to impress masses. In a chat with Tellychakkar, she spoke about her role, TV journey and more.
How did acting come your way?
My parents belong from the field of art, so acting comes naturally to me. My parents always wished to see me in front of the camera.
How did you begin your television career?
Till 11th standard, I wasn’t clear what I wanted to do in life. I belong from Bhopal, where I participated and won a beauty pageant. Then I did theatre for two years. Later, I was getting lot of modelling assignments, but I always wanted to act. I got my first show in DD, that is, Yeh Shaadi Hai Ya Shoda, followed by Jane Kya Joga Rama Re on Life OK. And now you see me playing the lead in VIshkanya.
What was your first reaction when you were selected as a lead?
At first, I could not believe it. Tears rolled down my cheeks my and I quickly called up my dad to let him know the good news. Even they could not hold their excitement!
Do you believe in supernatural things?
I don’t believe in supernatural things. However, I love watching thriller-based shows and movies.
Are you under constant pressure in the field?
There is a lot of pressure. From the time promos were up onscreen, I could not containt my excitement and was nervous aas well. My producers had faith in me and they thought that I was apt for this role.
What are the challenges that you have faced till now?
The makeup part is tedious and time-consuming. I was asked to lose weight so before the show went on air, I lost a little to get into the skin of the character.
As you go blue for your Vishkanya role…have faced any skin problems?
Not at all. When I joined the show I had informed them that my skin was sensitive. They did a patch test before applying colors on me.
Any rejections that you faced?
I have faced a lot of rejections. At the end it’s not only about acting but how well do you fit into the character. I take it positively though.
Any actress that you look up to?
The one and only Priyanka Chopra. Her dedication inspires me to work hard.
