I entered the Bigg Boss house to prove myself : Juhi Parmar

Juhi Parmar
Juhi Parmar, well known as Kumkum of Indian Television has yet again proved that she is a favorite amongst TV audiences, by winning the Bigg Boss 5 title and a cash amount of one crore. The show’s finale last Saturday brought a big smile on Juhi Parmar face and a lot of joy for her family that was present at the venue. As Juhi was the only contestant to have stayed in the house from the very start of the reality series, one can say that the winner’s trophy was well deserved. Tellychakkar.com spoke to Juhi on winning another reality show after Sony Entertainment’s Comedy Circus and also on being the second woman to have won the Bigg Boss title after Shweta Tiwari. Excerpts from the interview:- Why did you take up Bigg Boss? I had to prove a lot of things actually. Firstly, I had not taken up any new show for almost a year, because I gained weight but I am not shy about it. And losing weight was a big trouble for me because of my thyroid issues. The next reason was that the audiences have seen a Juhi who was always angry; thanks to the reality show I participated in (Pati Patni aur Woh). And I felt Bigg Boss was the right show to prove that I can dance, cook, joke, cry, laugh and also getting angry. So what we saw was the real Juhi? Yes, obviously you saw the real Juhi because if I had to be faking anything you would have come to know. People can’t be faking things for a long period of three months. If one is wearing a mask it will definitely come out at some point of time. In fact, if you’ve observed me closely, I was always the same. If I forgave people in the beginning I did not get back and fight with them. And whenever I felt I was wrong anywhere I went ahead and told people sorry. Did you have the gut feeling that you will win the show? Honestly, I had no idea that I would win. I felt that there was so much of drama inside the house and I was hardly contributing to it, so the question that I would go on to win the title didn’t arise. In fact, I used to wonder that the audiences would be bored watching me in the kitchen all day long, washing utensils and cooking. But, now I am thankful to the audiences that they noticed everything about me. What will you do of the prize money? I haven’t thought about it right now, but I think I would like to save this for my kids that I’d have in the future(smiles). Coming back to the famous house of Bigg Boss. You were part of the green room group and a lot of people did not like it. What is your take on it? In the outside world, we all have a set of friends that we hang out. However, in a game show like Bigg Boss, when people become good friends they are tagged as a group. People feel that people in a group are conspiring against the others which is not true. Your friend Sky had fights with almost everybody and he was always on the wrong side. But you always supported him, why is that so? I did make a few good friends even before Sky entered the house and my relationship with those people did not change even after Sky’s entry. However, I was good friends with Sky and unfortunately he had a bad relationship with a few people in the house because of which I had to choose one among them and I chose Sky as he was my friend. So you have made good friends, what are the things you’ve learnt in the Bigg Boss house? This was a lifetime learning experience for me and I think I will never be able to do a show like Bigg Boss ever again. This was my first show jiska packup teen mahine baad hua hai. It’s been the longest shoot I’ve ever had (smiles). Inside the house, we used to perform tasks to earn food items like cheese and butter. While I was in the house I learnt that we take a lot of things for granted, which are valuable. So I feel if things like coffee, butter, jam are important in life than relationships are definitely more important and one must not let them go. You were inside the house for so long, what are the things you will miss once out of the house? For past three months my life has just been around Bigg Boss. I have just worked according to the Bigg Boss schedule where every Saturday we’d wait for elimination and every Monday for nominations. And Monday to Friday, we’d be busy doing our task and would wake up with a song. So Bigg Boss is in my system now and it will take me some time to get back to my normal life. However I am happy that at least now I won’t wake up with the sound of dogs barking as there were a lot of dogs outside the house (Laughs). How do you look at life post Bigg Boss? I see this as second inning as I had not worked for a year due to my weight issues. However, now that I am back after a break, I am looking forward to a great career ahead. Luckily, I had 10 kilos when I entered the house, however now I have lost another five kilos or more so I am in a better shape now. Overall, I am happy. Would you want your husband Sachin Shroff to be part of next season of Bigg Boss? I felt I didn’t have the P of Patience and C of control. However, all thanks to Bigg Boss, I have learnt I have both Patience and control. So if can stay for three months, he can definitely stay for six months as he is a lot more patient.
