<a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/roshni-chopra-signs-her-debut-film>Roshni Chopra</a> will soon be seen as a gaon ki gori in Desi Girl on Imagine. While preparing to fly to Cannes for her husband’s (Siddharth Anand Kumar) film (<em>Semshook</em>) screening, Chopra shared her experience of being a ‘<em>desi girl</em>’ with TellyChakkar.
<strong>What is the real Roshni like?</strong>
She is a mixture of many emotions. She is passionate and she’s an extremist. I am often accused by people for my extreme behaviour. I am a typical Scorpio.

Come a long way after Kasam Se…
Yes, and it’s been an exciting journey. Even before Kasamh Se, I had hosted live cricket on Doordarshan with Charu Sharma. That was my first break. I got a good response so I moved to Mumbai. And since then, there’s no looking back for me. Pia (her character in Kasamh Se) was like a dream role. I like variety so I stepped out of the show after two and a half years. At that time, many thought I was making a mistake but now I am sure they are convinced I took the right step. I have been busy with anchoring and reality shows for the last year-and-a-half. I’m loving it!
Currently, you are one of the contestants in Desi Girl. How did it come by?
I was approached for many reality shows. One of them was Fear Factor but said a straight ‘no’ at that time because I was very scared. I am extremely paranoid about insects. However, when I got a proposal for Desi Girl my heart said a ‘yes’. I have lived a privileged life. Things have come to me easily. I have worked hard but I haven’t struggled like many other people. This was like a great opportunity to get close to 80 per cent of the country. I have a very ‘desi dil’. This show was like a blind gamble.
How was your experience as a ‘village girl’?
After going to the venue I was in a shock for 10 days. I lived in a village with another family. No car, no phones nothing. I was back to basics and was doing a lot of physical work… I have lost a lot of weight (laughs). I had carried my ‘yoga mat’ with me. But, it was of no use as I had no energy left after doing so much physical work.
Tell us about the contestants.
All the eight girls are unique and different from each other. It was an interesting experience to be a part of this show.
With whom do you get along the most in the show?
I got along the most with Anmol (ex-contestant, Roadies), Aushima, who happens to be my family friend and I discovered that only after the show (laughs) and Kashmera Shah. I had a very different picture of Kash before I met her in the show.
Sambhavna Seth made lot of news during her stint in Bigg Boss. Do we see her in a similar avatar here too?
No. I think Sambhavna is highly misunderstood.
Was there any groupism in the show?
There was no groupism as such. But as it is said, ‘birds of a feather flock together’. That was the exact case. Sambhavna and Monica were always together because they lived together in one house.
Any film offers after Phirr?
For now, I am eagerly waiting for Phirr to release. Apart from that, yes I am working on an international project but I am not allowed to talk about it.
