Mishkat Varma

The charming actor Mishkat Varma’s million dollar smile makes women go weak in the knees.

After playing the boy-next-door on TV as Kabir on Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, Mishkat is tickling viewers’ funny bone with SABTV’s newly launched show Ichhapyaari Naagin.

In chat with Tellychakkar.com, the dimpled lad spoke about his role, show, competitors, singlehood and more...

What made you pick Ichhapyaari Naagin?

This is my first comedy show. After being a part of daily soaps, I wanted to try a different genre. It’s the concept of Ichhapyaari Naagin which made me say yes.

How difficult is it to make people laugh?

I am in very safe hands. The show is directed by the very talented Santram Verma. He is the best director on Indian television. He guides us and makes sure that there is no compromise with any single scene.

What can people expect from your role?

I have always played happy-go-lucky to romantic guy on TV but this project will showcase another side of mine.

How’s your bond with co-star Priyal (Gor)?

She is very down to earth and serious about her work. She will always have her lines ready.

Describe Ichhapyaari Naagin in three words?

Funny, unique and entertaining.

Do you think the show will be well accepted by viewers?

I am confident it will be.

Do you see yourself taking up shows with supernatural or superstitious plots?

If supernatural based shows are working and viewers are enjoying, then there are no qualms at all. I don’t mind being a part of such concepts.

After drama and comedy genre, what do you want to try out?

I would love to play an out-an-out negative character on-screen.

Do you keep an eye on your competitors?

Yes, I keep myself updated.

Which actor’s comic timing do you like the most?

On TV, Kapil Sharma and Manish Paul and in films I like Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Are you single?

Very much and I don’t wish to be in love.

Any phobia?

Water and height.

How much do you miss your newly wedded sister Mihika?

I miss her a lot so we keep chatting often.

When do you plan to get married?

I don’t believe in marriages.

Any TV actress you wish to work with?

I have biggest crush on Jennifer (Winget) and I wish to work with her.

Good luck Mishkat!
