I share a healthy off-screen relationship with Ram Kapoor - Sakshi Tanwar

Sakshi Tanwar
She is a force to reckon with on Indian television but is yet to make a mark on the silver screen. In a candid chat with Tellychakkar.com, small screen's favourite bahu, Sakshi Tanwar tells us why small screen is the perfect medium for her, yet. Bade Acche Lagte Hai has been on air for a long time now. Happy? Of course yes. The serial was initially supposed to be 150 episodes serial. Today it has crossed 500 episodes. So you can imagine how happy I am. How has your rapport with Ram Kapoor developed over these 500 episodes? We have a lot of mutual respect for each other. We both are comfortable and secure in our own spaces. There is no insecurity in terms of him getting more screen space or me getting more footage in the serial. I share a very healthy relation with Ram off screen as well which has translated well into the comfort or chemistry which people say, we share onscreen. Most of your counterparts including Ram have struck a fine balance between TV and Bollywood. When do we get to see you doing more movies? I am very comfortable with what I am doing right now. And I believe in doing what I am doing right now rather than struggling in a bigger medium. I think the space that I have created for myself in television is something that I had never even imagined. God has been very kind to me. I came from a small city with very small dreams and God today has given me a lot without even me asking for it. So if I don't value that and keep on asking for more, then I would be disrespecting his wish. So that means you are not greedy like others to get into Bollywood? Well, I am greedy for good roles. Good, challenging roles is what I am greedy for but medium is secondary for me. Now that's quite contrary to the usual way of thinking. Every television actor wants to finally enter Bollywood? (Cuts in) To each his own. I will always be indebted to television for giving me all that I needed. I will never cut off myself from my roots to even try and establish myself in another medium like Bollywood. You have acted in a few Hindi movies which went unnoticed. Are you not happy with the kind of offers you get from Bollywood? The kind of roles that television gives me today is far better than what I get offered in movies. So what kind of roles are you looking at doing in Bollywood? Both in Bollywood and small screen, I am only looking for good and challenging roles. The strength of the role matters and not the length. You did a movie with Sunny Deol called Mohalla which didn't release. What do you have to say about it? Yes, I did a film with Sunny Deol and it was a very nice role. I enjoyed working in that movie. Will you ever participate in Bigg Boss? No. Why? (Stares) See, reality shows are not for me. Everybody is a different cut out. Finally, any plans of entering politics? (Thinks and sighs) We will cross the bridge when it comes (smiles).
