If you have eagerness in your heart, it means you are alive,
If your eyes are filled with dreams, it means you are alive
Learn to be free like the wind,
Learn to flow freely like the river,
Embrace every moment with open arms,
See a new horizon every time with your eyes,
If you carry surprise in your eyes, it means you are alive,
If you have eagerness in your heart, it means you are alive…
For all the creative souls out there, living a life is more than just sniffing the air. It’s about connecting with the inner soul and dreaming…dreaming for a better world, a better future.
When we spoke to mystic beauty Yashashri Masurkar and introduced our new section Irshaad –which celebrates the essence of poetry, shayaris and dohas –she was more than happy to share her poetic side.
She found a perfect connect with the initiative as in her words, “she enjoys penning her dreams creatively in words and loves getting lost in the enchanted world of poetry”.
Wow, she is quite a diva, we say!!!
Let’s talk more to Yashashri on her creative side. The actress needs no introduction. Her acting acumen can be guessed from her strong body of work, namely in Rang Badalti Odhani, Sanskaar Dharohar Apnon Ki, Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se among others: Excerpts:
We feel that life without poetry would be incomplete…your thoughts?
Absolutely! I think it is the most wonderful form to describe beauty.
Do you have interest in poetry and shayari?
Yes, certainly. We actors use expressions to connect; poetry also communicates via words. We cannot see poems as such, it doesn’t have a face, but it opens thousand doors of imagination, creating a beautiful world.
Has anyone written or recited a poem or shayari to profess their love to you?
I wish. I am waiting for the day when that would happen.
In this day and age – where people have lost interest in poetry and that kind of romance, how do you stay connected to shayari/poetry?
Whenever I get an opportunity, I read a lot. The other day I was watching the movie Into The Wild and it had a poem which touched my heart. When I Googled I discovered it was a wonderful piece written by Lord Byron.
Who is your favorite shayar or poet?
Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Javed Akhtar, Gulzar, Lord Byron and many others.
Did you know that Tata Sky & Javed Akhtar saab have recently launched Actve Javed Akhtar service on Tata Sky to bring back the golden era of poetry? Your comments on it?
Yes, I got to know about it through Twitter and some of my acquaintance. They have told me how refreshing and nice it is. Maybe it is high time that I now subscribe to Tata Sky. (states with a giggle) .
Poetry is considered as the art of conveying what the heart feels? You express with your heart or mind?
Heart...all the time.
Javed Akhtar is a magician with the pen. Any favourite song or poem of his you remember/like?
I can’t recall anything at the moment, but yes, he is truly a magician.
To end, kuch irshaad kijiye…
Talatum, valvale, haijaan, aramaan…sab uske saath rukhsat ho chuke the
Yakeen tha ab na hasna hain, na rona…kuch itna chuke the, ro chuke the
Kisi se aaj ek angdaai lekar, nazar mein reshmi girhe laga di…
Tatatum, valvale, haijaan, armaan…wahi chingariya phir muskura di…
