Here. Karan gives some investment tips for Tellychakkar.com readers in our Lifestyle section.
How important is money to you?
Money is very important to me because in today’s time a good lifestyle is needed and also because I have a family to support.
Are you an impulsive buyer?
Yes. I am. I buy whatever I like and I don’t wait to think much about it. I carry out a quick research and then I am all ready to buy it.
What are the investments that you have made?
I have purchased a plot for myself at Dehradun. Gold and property are good investment options these days.
What has been your most expensive purchase?
Well, when I was in college I had bought a digital Yashica camera. I purchased it for Rs. 2000. At that point of time Rs 2000 was a lot and so I think it was one of the most expensive purchases at that time.
Do you feel financially secured?
Yes. I have all the things that I need and I am quite happy with it.
Who handles your expenses?
I handle my own expenses.
What was your first salary?
Well my first salary was Rs. 7000 when I was employed for a company in the year 2005 to 2008.
How much money do you carry every day?
I carry at least Rs 1000 in the form of cash and my debit and credit cards.
Your advice to new investors?
First of all I would like to say that money is not everything and in the end it’s not how much you earn. It’s how you spend it. Secondly one has to keep a track of how much they are spending because sometimes it goes a little overboard and then it becomes a little difficult to handle expenses. It creates a conflict between savings and expenditure so one needs to keep the expenses at bay and increase on savings.
