The very cute and talented Arjun Bijlani who won hearts with his show Miley Jab Hum Tum has quite a fit body and is all geared up to be back on TV soon. Tellychakkar.com quizzed him on his fitness mantra and his favourite on the menu.
Personal fitness mantra?
I do workout in the gym but apart from that yoga is also very important, complemented with some warm up session.
Personal diet mantra…
I am on a strict diet and have lost almost 7 kgs in one and a half month, I am 67.5 kgs now. I am very careful that I have more of proteins and zero carb diet, as today the trend is about having a leaner and healthier body.
Are you a foodie?
Ohh yes! So, every Sunday I break my diet routine and indulge in some of my favourite dishes. Additionally, I make sure not to consume rotis and rice but a dish which is healthier and tasty.
Exercise routine…
I work out for about 90 minutes. And I always change my exercise format as it can make one’s body stiff.
Are you a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian?
Non-vegetarian.
Favourite cuisine…
I like eating Indian food. Of late, I have been consuming seafood as it is high on protein.
Favourite dish…
Currently I am dieting so I cannot eat my favourite dishes but otherwise it is butter chicken and palak paneer (smiles)
A must on your breakfast table?
Eggs are a must on my breakfast table. I have 12 egg whites and one yolk in a day.
Sugar or sugar-free tea/coffee…
I do not consume tea or coffee. With regards to sugar, I consume food which give natural sugar like carrots and likes.
Lunch generally consists of…
Grilled chicken or fish with salad…as vegetables are an important part of dieting.
Dinner generally consists of?
The same as lunch.
Dessert delights?
I love chocolate truffle cake. Also chocolate ice-cream from Baskin Robbins.
My favourite drink (non-alcoholic)…
Nimbu Paani with a dash of honey! It tastes amazing.
My favourite drink (alcoholic)…
I have stopped drinking, but once in a while I do sip on a glass of red wine that too because it is said that a glass of wine can do wonders to a person’s heart and body.
Most unusual dish I've tasted?
It was Caviar; and trust me it was extremely awful. We Indians are not used to such taste, I don’t know how it is the most celebrated dish in some foreign countries.
Experiment with food…
I used to, but now I have to limit myself as I am on a diet.
On the streets, I love to have…
Paani-puri! Also vada pav particularly from a stall outside Kirti College called Ashok vada pav! I would recommend everyone to try it there.
Do you cook?
I cook occasionally, but soon I will be seen cooking on-screen on a daily basis (on his new show on SAB TV).
Fitness tip…
I would just advise people to identify their respective body. Do not get influenced and follow others, instead consult a trainer or a dietitian who will help you suggest what will be best for you.
