Aarti Singh who plays Mugdha of Thoda Hai Bas Thode Ki Zaroorat Hai is a fit star. Tellychakkar spoke to her on her eating and exercising habits. Look out for all the interesting answers that we got.
Personal fitness mantra: I eat a lot of food but avoid eating carbs after six. I also avoid eating after six but at times I just can’t help give in. I exercise daily for an hour.
Personal diet mantra: I eat every two hours. I also try and eat between shoots.
Exercise routine: As I said earlier I workout for an hour daily and I have a personal trainer. I do weight lifting twice a week. I have been working pretty hard these days as I want to lose a lot of weight. It’s not that I am not fit now but I just want to see how I look if I become thinner.
Is food the elixir of life?
Yes it is as I love eating. I go into depression when I don’t eat. Even if I wake up around two at night I will move out to have a bhurji pav or something. I can give up on everything but food.
Are you a foodie?
Completely, big time! I have just two passions in life shopping and eating because they make me happy. And in my family, everyone is a foodie.
Are you a vegetarian or non-vegetarian?
Non-vegetarian.
Favourite cuisine: I do not any favourites as such. I love everything and anything, even rice works for me.
Favourite dish: Mutton stew
Favourite restaurant: I like having Chinese from Mainland China. For Indian food I prefer the Punjabi dhabas.
A must on my breakfast table: I was brought up in Lucknow so I never had breakfast. Even now since I am asked to have an omelet or an apple by my trainer I do have it.
Sugar or sugar-free for my tea/coffee: I was into a lot of sugar-free earlier but now I have started having a sugar tea in the morning and sugar-free during the day.
Lunch generally consists of… Roti, dal, chicken, sabzi, salad.
For high-tea you would prefer… I generally don’t indulge in it but sometimes I just have a fruit.
Dinner generally consists of… Tandoori chicken or protein shakes.
Dessert delights… I don’t like meetha and maybe that’s one reason why I haven’t put on so much.
My favourite drink (non-alcoholic): Diet Coke
My favourite drink (alcoholic): Breezer, just one is enough and I am out.
At parties I have: Breezer and Coke.
Most unusual dish I've tasted: Pork.
Experiment with food: I never experiment with food but once when I was trying to learn cooking for the first time I had made this rasedar aloo ki sabzi and I added some extra salt to it. I would call that an experiment.
On the streets, I love to have… Tawa pulao.
Do you cook? Yes, I do cook and I can cook everything except fish. So, when it comes to cooking Indian food I just enjoy it.
Favourite recipe: Mutton Stew

Green chilies-4-5nos
Ginger juliennes-20g

Salt-To taste
Method:
Put mutton cubes in a handi with water just to cover the meat. Give it one boil and remove the scum.
In a separate container heat coconut oil add sliced onions, slit green chilies, ginger juliennes and curry leaves. Saute the onions and then put the half done mutton. Put salt and let the mutton cook. Now add the coconut milk and cook for five more minutes. Check for seasoning, garnish with curry leaves and serve hot.
