Star Plus’s iconic show Satyamev Jayate 2 premiered on 2 March with historic numbers. As per TAM data for week 10, Satyamev Jayate’s launch episode was watched by a massive 2.6 crore Indians. This when extrapolated to All India Universe, as per standard industry conversions, means that the launch episode was watched by 7.9 crore Indians.
The show recorded 7429 TVT in All India (All 4+, All India) and a HSM TVT of 6770 (All 4+, HSM). These are simulcast ratings of the original episode aired on Sunday morning 11 am across 7 channels (Star Plus, Star Pravah, Star World, Star Utsav, Star Vijay, Asianet and Doordarshan) along with the 1pm original airing on ETV Telugu.
Satyamev Jayate’s hard hitting first 2 episodes caught the nation’s attention and stirred it into action. A total of 8.7 million "Votes for Change" were received from viewers in support of the issues brought up on the show. Viewers have stepped forward in overwhelming numbers to "vote for change" by giving calls, signing petitions and sending messages of support.
The show has taken digital media by storm with 193 million impressions on digital so far. It trended across social media with seven of the top 10 hashtags - dominating conversations online. The online fan community has doubled from 1.6 million last season to 3.6 million this season. The show's facebook page has the most people talking about it in the country. There have been more than 10.5 million views online so far with over 4,00,000 hours of content consumption online.
