MUMBAI:Dushan reveals to Lord Shiva that he received a boon allowing him to remain conscious during his death and requests Shiva to open his third eye and reduce him to ashes. Despite Devi Parvati’s concern for his pain, Dushan insists, wanting his ashes to be used in Shiva’s worship. Moved by his devotion, Lord Shiva grants the wish, burning Dushan to ashes. Devi Parvati performs aarti with the ashes, joined by all the devotees.
In Kailash, Ganesh and others chant praises of Mahakaal. Shukracharya acknowledges Dushan’s noble death, saying even enemies become devotees in front of Lord Shiva. Inspired, other devotees ask Shiva to accept their ashes after death, and he agrees with a heavy heart.
Afterward, Devi Parvati confronts Lord Shiva, accusing him of choosing to sacrifice her in the past. Though Shiva apologizes, Parvati says his words can’t ease her pain. She begins her journey to visit all Jyotirlingas, refusing to dance with him until it is complete. Lord Shiva, moved, watches as she wipes away Dushan’s ashes and departs.
