MUMBAI: Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has mesmerized cricket fans with his cricket journey. A champion, he played a key role to help India win two world cups. The charming cricketer, who is one of the most stylish left-handed batsmen, is an inspiration for many!

However, it’s not just his cricket journey that inspires his millions of fans. He is also a cancer survivor.

In fact, the former cricketer, who has been bestowed with many awards including the prestigious Arjuna Award and Padma Shri Award, has not just defeated cancer but also returned to represent the national team.

Talking about the time when the news of Yuvraj Singh suffering from cancer came out, it was observed by many fans how there was a sudden increase in the frequency of a life insurance company's advertisement that features the sports star.

Many even thought the company was encashing on the players' illness. However, the company strongly denied such claims, “This ad was shot three months ago when Yuvraj’s tumour was first diagnosed. It was launched, as planned, on February 1. People are noticing it because it coincided with the news and thinking there’s is an increase in the frequency. But that’s not true. We would never encash the crisis, in fact the ad was Yuvraj’s idea,” Ajay Kakar, CMO, financial services, Aditya Birla Group had said.
