MUMBAI: Indian T20 cricket captain Hardik Pandya is one of the most popular cricketers. He has been in the news for suffering an ankle sprain at the NCA in Bengaluru. His recovery might require a lot of time; mostly a couple of days more before he returns to playing for India.

Hardik will unfortunately not be able to play for India's upcoming World Cup matches against England on October 29 and Sri Lanka on November 2 due to his injury as he will need more time to recover. He is currently being treated at the National Cricket Academy at Bengaluru. He will begin practice only by the business end of the World Cup. Hardik had bowled only 3 deliveries against Bangladesh at Pune before the mishap happened and he had to be taken off the field. He was not part of the match after that.
While the rest of the Indian cricket team traveled to Dharamsala for their for their game against New Zealand on October 22, Hardil went to NCA in Bengaluru for his treatment and observation.

A source was quoted as saying, “Pandya has suffered a bad sprain but fortunately not a fracture. The BCCI medical team wants to take maximum precaution. He is likely to miss the next two to three matches. The team wants him fully fit for the knock-out stage.”
